DEVELOPER DOCUMENTATION

Meet the data.
Then make it yours.

Explore provider-neutral response patterns, local JSON fixtures, and the decisions behind a thoughtful search integration.

Start with a local example

These examples are intentionally small. Switch between a SERP observation, a keyword-tracking record, and an LLM evidence packet. Copy the JSON or download the matching file; no API key, signup, or network request is involved.

What this documentation covers: local fixtures and proposed data patterns. There is no live endpoint, API credential issuance, SDK, or hosted account service on this site.

Explore the response patterns

Search results, structured.

Explore a response. Imagine what comes next.

serp-example.json
{
  "sample": true,
  "query": "search engine api",
  "context": {
    "country": "US",
    "language": "en"
  },
  "organic_results": [
    {
      "position": 1,
      "title": "A practical search API guide",
      "url": "https://searchengineaapi.com/search-engine-api/"
    }
  ],
  "status": "illustrative—not live"
}

Understand the three patterns

PatternWhat it illustratesWhat it does not claim
SERP observationA query, requested context, and a synthetic result list.An actual Google ranking or a live search response.
Keyword recordSeparate observations with explicit labels and context.A historical rank measurement or a traffic forecast.
LLM evidence packetA stable source identifier, passage, and claim reference.An answer generated by a model or verified source retrieval.

Read a fixture in JavaScript

Serve the site over HTTP, then load the included fixture with a relative URL. This request reads a file from your own host; it does not call a search provider.

async function readSearchExample() {
  const response = await fetch('/assets/examples/serp-example.json');
  if (!response.ok) {
    throw new Error(`Example unavailable: ${response.status}`);
  }
  const data = await response.json();
  if (data.sample !== true || !Array.isArray(data.organic_results)) {
    throw new Error('Unexpected example structure');
  }
  return data;
}

readSearchExample().then(console.log).catch(console.error);

Before connecting a live provider

Choose an authorized source, confirm permitted use, and map its real contract into your application. Protect credentials in an appropriate application layer, bound repeated attempts, and label unavailable observations honestly. Public static assets must not contain privileged keys.

Design for failure

Distinguish empty results, timeouts, unsupported context, and invalid requests.
